Privacy Policy

Information you give us

• Order details — your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and pincode, and any gift message you add at checkout.
• Account details — your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash) if you create an account, and the orders linked to it.
• Messages — anything you send us through the contact form, email, phone or Instagram, including product reviews.
• Newsletter — your email address if you subscribe to our updates.
• Notify-me requests — your email address when you ask to be told that an item is back in stock.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — pages viewed, products added to the cart, searches and purchases, collected by our analytics tools in aggregated form, along with your approximate location, device and browser type.
• Browser storage — your cart, wishlist and recently viewed items are kept in your own browser’s local storage so they are still there when you come back. This data stays on your device unless you check out.
• Cart activity — if you enter an email or phone number at checkout and leave without paying, we keep the cart contents and those details so we can send you a reminder.

We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, net-banking credentials or wallet details. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay on their secure, PCI-DSS compliant systems.

• To process and deliver your order, send order confirmations and status updates, and arrange returns, exchanges and refunds.
• To answer your questions and resolve problems with an order.
• To send a reminder about items left in your cart, and marketing emails if you have subscribed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
• To understand how the website is used so we can improve it, and to measure which collections and campaigns people respond to.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents, including rate-limiting repeated requests.
• To meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting records.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the shop, and only as much as they need:

• Razorpay — processes your payment and refunds. Your name, email, phone number and order amount are passed to them to complete the transaction. See Razorpay’s privacy policy.
• Courier partners — receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
• Email delivery — order and marketing emails are sent from our own mailbox, info@grihatattva.com.

We may also disclose information where required by law, a court order or a government authority, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items: a session cookie to keep you signed in to your account, local storage for your cart, wishlist and recently viewed items, a flag that remembers you have dismissed the newsletter popup, and analytics cookies that measure site usage. You can clear or block these through your browser settings; the shop will still work, but your cart and sign-in will not persist between visits.

• Order records, including your delivery details, are kept for as long as needed for returns, warranty and accounting, and for as long as Indian tax and company law requires us to keep accounting records.
• Account details are kept until you ask us to delete your account.
• Abandoned-cart details are deleted once a reminder has been sent or the cart is completed or emptied.
• Newsletter and notify-me email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or the notification has been sent.
• Analytics data is held in aggregated form and is not linked to your name or order.

The website is served over HTTPS. Account passwords are stored as hashes, never in plain text. Access to order data is limited to the team members who need it to fulfil orders, and our admin tools require a separate login. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your information has been compromised please contact us immediately.

You can, at any time:

• view and update your account details and see your order history from My Account,
• unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email,
• ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you,
• ask us to correct inaccurate information, or
• ask us to delete your account and personal information, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

To exercise any of these, email info@grihatattva.comfrom the address linked to your order or account. We respond within 7 business days. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you also have the right to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf, and to raise a grievance with us; if you are not satisfied with our response you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their details, please contact us and we will delete them.

We may update this policy as the shop and the law evolve. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and significant changes will be flagged on the website.
